Glennie House

Gold Winner 2007, Master Builder Awards (New Homes)

Designed as a home and work studio complex, the property is comprised of three stand alone pavilions, arranged around a courtyard that contains a large swimming pool and landscaped garden. The complex has been built with sustainability and self-sufficient rural living in mind.

All roof water is collected and used for both the house and pool, while five large solar panels heat the domestic hot water and under floor heating pipes in the concrete floors, diverting to the swimming pool in summertime.

With the use of raw finished surfaces to primary structural building elements such as polished concrete floors with broadloom carpet inserts and polished stack bonded masonry walls, demanded exceptional workmanship, care, skill and forethought from contractor and sub contractors alike.
